I'm a threadboi now
Last night I had a fun time trying out the new Threads app for a while. It’s an interesting experience. It was weird to use Instagram in a Twitterish way.
My Twitter feed is highly curated for business opinions and ideas, and my Instagram is much more tailored to my hobbies like golf and hiking. All of a sudden when I got on Threads it was like my Instagram feed had been transported to a Twitter format.
Do I think Threads is here to stay?
It’s hard to say. I have trouble betting against Mark Zuckerberg. He seems to be an incredible executor and operator.
Right now it has early clubhouse vibes. Everyone is trying to go viral by being the first to the platform, and it’s filled with a lot of people talking about the app itself which just doesn’t seem very sustainable. If it was anyone else who started the app I would bet against it, but I have trouble betting against Zuck and Meta.
I’d hold off creating your business account on Threads, but if you want to kick it with me give me a follow!

I found this guy by scrolling on Instagram Reels this week, and I couldn’t believe how wholesome and awesome his content was. This guy just goes to Home Depot and picks up day laborers for a day at Disneyland.
I love this idea because it hits on a couple huge growth drivers.
